Congrats Excellency!
I should have congratulated you yesterday but my foster mother, who passed away very recently, is deserving of some respects.
I could,  therefore, not get involved in many of the activities celebrating your first anniversary in office.
HE,  you may recall that when you started this journey, I was unobstructively following your path.
I have not detoured except that I want to take you through the same course all over gain.
This will be a difficult voyage but it is a journey you must undertake to grasp your early design and begin to live up your tenure to its fulfilment.
You will recall sir that when you started this journey,  the camp of the enemy had fewer numbers.
You were not a magician Sir but everybody kept their hope in you expecting you to be magical.
HE, you wilfully recruited enemies with the screening exercise and those you chose to run the framework.
Sir, I might be wrong. But my reading of the design you had pursued till date was to reduce the number of staff of Kogi State.
My Governor, the expectations of your citizens was to make a definite statement of your wish to reduce staff.  You could have state that even very clearly.
So, your own people did not deserve the rigmarole they had gone through in these number of months on a screening exercise.
HE,  governance is not just about difficult decisions but the ability to temper such decisions with popular wishes tend to make history kind to leaders.
Every administration has its distractions but if the people,  I mean the real people,  not the hailers and wailers, stand with you, history will be kind to you.
My governor, you have trudged on the map of performance in the last 365 days but in the course of those days,  you have completed the projects of your predecessor. Good mark.  You have built roads. Good too.  You have built headquarters of BIR. Perfect.
But the public servants have largely been left hungry. I will not tell you a lie or make a pretence.  My governor, that was unkind. You must correct this nebulous picture you have created.
HE, you are my governor and the governor of every Kogite. I’m not your enemy and neither are other Kogites. Why do you keep talking about enemies and warfare?  Why are you telling the people of other states that our state is at war.
Has it not occurred to you that you are diminishing your goodwill, your good self and the good image of Kogites that you are not in charge?
When you meet your own colleagues at the Presidential Villa and other places and they claim your state is in turmoil, does that not bother you?
HE, keep 2019 aside momentarily and listen more to the voices of the ordinary people.
Their needs are very small….. regular water,  good roads, salary and pension as at when due, and other littlely bigger things.
My governor, may the Lord grant you the wisdom to attend to the needs of your people and the courage to ignore needless warfare.
Congrats on your first year in office sir……. May the Lord grant you the courage and wisdom to keep governing Sir!
