Youths in Ward ‘B’ of Lokoja Local Government Area in Kogi State have expressed their readiness to ensure victory for the ruling All Progressives Congress in all elections.
They made this commitment on Saturday at a Mega mobilization Rally held at Cantonment Street where candidates of the APC, including appointees and traditional rulers were invited to assure the people of their plans for the area.
The Oba of Yoruba Community in Lokoja, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Bello Audu-Oke Owoniboy was the royal father of the occasion.
The party’s senatorial candidate for Kogi West, Senator Smart Adeyemi; the Lokoja/Kogi Kotonkarge candidate for House of Representatives, Hon Abdulkarim Isah (Wambai); the Lokoja I Assembly candidate, Comrade Isah Umar all graced the occasion in which they assured the people of their commitment to ensuring they give them adequate representation.
The administrator of the Local Government Area, Hon Lawal Shiru, a son of the community, enumerated the impact of the ruling party in terms of provision of basic amenities such as water, employment opportunities to the teeming youths and empowerment programmes for women of the area among others.
Senator Smart Adeyemi, who was represented at the event, praised the youths for organizing the programme and assured them of his resolve to give the people adequate representation at the National Assembly.
The same assurance was also given by Hon Isah Wambai, who described the people of the ward as honest and committed to whatever cause they put their minds to, and urged them to keep faith in the APC.
While admonishing the youths of the area to put their minds to productive ventures by shunning acts capable of disrupting public peace, a youth activist and coordinator of National Youth Council of Nigeria, Comrade Abdullahi Adamu said youths have no reason not to back the present administration of Alhaji Yahaya Bello.
He described the Governor as a youth that has given overwhelming support to the youth demographic, saying they have never had it so good since creation of the state.
Earlier in an opening address, one of the event organisers, Muhammed Muhammed said the event was for the purpose of emphasizing why they should back the ruling party, which he said has touched the lives of the people positively.
Highlight of the occasion was musical entertainment, drama sketch by local artists and other side attractions.
