The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Kogi State Command, on Friday decorated thirty-one (32) of its newly promoted officers and marshals in the state with their ranks and status.
Out of the 32 staff decorated, 22 were officers while 10 were marshals (three Marshal Inspectors and seven Marshal Assistants).
Speaking at the ceremony at the FRSC, RS8.3, Kogi Sector Command, Lokoja, the Sector Commander, Emmanuel Abe, congratulated the newly promoted and decorated officers and marshals for their commitment to duty, saying it was a thing of joy.
According to him, among those personnel that were promoted there were some that had been on their former ranks ranges from four to eight years, saying it is a thing of joy.
Abe noted that five decorated officers were promoted to the rank of Assistant Corps Commanders (ACC), four to the rank of Superintendent Route Commanders (SRC), eleven to Route Commanders, while two were elevated to the rank of Deputy Route Commanders (DRC).
He added that out of the ten marshals decorated, three were promoted to the rank of Marshal Inspectors, while seven to the rank of Marshal Assistants.
The sector commander urged the newly promoted officers and marshals to be more committed to their duties, saying the new ranks were not meant for decorations or dressing but more responsibilities.
He stressed the need for the celebrants to put in all their best and behave maturely in their new status and positions.
“If you know you have not been behaving well and doing things not expected of you, this is the right time to change your attitude; the FRSC should be proud of you.
“Convince the FRSC that they have not made mistake in promoting you; let us reciprocate the gesture by putting in our best in our new positions.
“Now, we are requesting more commitments from you more than before. It is a thing of joy, and we rejoice and felicitate with you,” Abe said.
In his vote of thanks, one of the newly promoted officers, ACC Hamzat Yakubu, who spoke on behalf of others, thanked all their guests for honouring their invitation.
