A socio-political group, Kogi Youths Liberation Movement has called on the Inspector General of Police to remove the Kogi state commissioner of police, Wilson Inalegwu for lack of professionalism in handling security issues in the state.
According to Comrade Abdulkareem Isah, the secretary general of the grou, Kogi state within last week has witnessed four assassination attempts.
“First was an assassination attempt on a federal lawmaker, Senator Dino Melaye whose residence was attacked and properties destroyed. Thank God he escaped.
“Within same week, another assassination attempt on the administrator of Okehi local government council, Hon. Abdulraheem Ohiare was reported. Ohiare escaped but two persons wee killed. Hoodlums attacked his residence in Nagazi, Okehi.
“We also gathered that some hoodlums attacked the residences of two persons who are reportedly close to the chairman of Okene local government last Friday. The attack on these people at about 8pm was believed to be a prelude to the one they plan to carry out on the administrator.
“CP Wilson has successfully left the path of policing Kogi state and his currently busy with political romance woth Governor Bello. He has recorded success in the arrest and re-arrest of a critic of the Kogi state government, Comrade Austin Okai,” he said.
The group called on IGP to check the activities of Kogi police chief or redeploy him from the state.
