The Igala Unity Forum (IUF) Federal Polytechnic Idah Chapter has appealed to the federal government to extend more federal presence to the Igala nation of Kogi State.

Coordinator of the Forum, Mr Akowe Achimugu who spoke at a social gathering to mark end of year and beginning of a new year , noted that the only federal presence in Igala land were the Federal Polytechnic, Idah and the unity school at Ugwolawo.

Achimugu said the two institutions were quite insignificant to compensate the commitment of Igala people in Nigeria, said the federal roads within Igala land were currently in deplorable condition seeking for urgent attention.
He pleaded with sons and daughters of Igala land to shun divisive tendencies as well as “pull-him-down syndrome” and join hands together for the overall development of Federal Polytechnic Idah and Igala land in general.
He said: “I urged the Igala people to fight a common development cause rather than fighting for individual selfish ambition which he has retarded the development of the Igala nation since independence. Our struggle for single executive position is affecting the development of Igala land and the polytechnic negatively.
“We therefore call on us all to join hands and make sure Igala sons/daughters succeed themselves one at a time rather than fighting one another while the minorities amongst us take the benefit of our struggles.”
