- Calls on Security agencies to fish out perpetrators
The Former Deputy Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Emmanuel Omebije has condemned in very strong terms the recent killings in some Bassa communities in Bassa Local Government of Kogi State which has left many dead and properties worth millions of naira destroyed.
This is even as the former Deputy speaker who is eyeing the government house under the flag of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP has called on the relevant security agencies in the state to fish out the perpetrators of the heinous crime against the good people of Dekina/Bassa.
In a statement released in Lokoja, the former Deputy speaker described the latest killing as vile and satanic while commiserating with the people of the community who were severely affected by the carnage.
“This latest killing which is coming on the heels of a previous one is barbaric, vile and despicable and should be condemned in all its ramification. I extend my heartfelt condolences to the good people of Dekina/Bassa who have been left to their fate,” he said.
Calling on the security agencies in the state to live up to their responsibility, he urged them to do whatever is humanly possible to forestall future occurrence and fish out the perpetrators of the heinous crime.
“As such, I urge you security agencies to up the ante so as curb this menace, I urge you to take proactive measures to stop further killings in the state. The sanctity of lives is something that should not be trifled with,” he added
It would be recalled that more than 16 people were killed in some Bassa communities in Bassa Local Government of Kogi State in the early hours of Sunday.
