Mrs. Salihu Halimat a.k.a. Big Mama, the General Manager of TAO FM was sacked owing to matters of financial mismanagement and executive recklessness.

Contrary to the news flying over the social media, the truth is that Big Mama of TAO FM was sacked for issues bordering on financial misappropriation, administrative malfeasance and executive recklessness AND NOT due to a rift with a particular politician or senatorial candidate.

Those who sell that line of false information are only out to cause mischief and disaffection for a self-serving purpose only known to them.

The radio station have been owing taxes ranging from PAYE (2017 & 2018), Witholding taxes,  ground rent, business premises, direct assessment and all that.

I was reliably informed by a staff of the Revenue Board, that letters have been written to the radio station severally to no avail before the BOJ was served on them. And that as it is with their revenue laws, they are to seal all defaulting businesses before a fresh year begins. Having exhausted all the processes they were left with no other option than to seal up the place.

Same thing was done to MTN and other defaulting businesses.

Other sources close to the management of the radio station have also disclosed that it was consequent upon this development and many other complaints bordering on fund remittances, monthly maintenance votes and administrative recklessness, that the management Board decided to investigate the GM (Big Mama).

This investigation have been ongoing for over 3 months and this investigation even occasioned the sacking of the Head of Commerce a week ago.

During the investigation, Big Mama and staff were invited to Abuja for auditing on allegations of unpaid dues, taxes, nepotism and favouritism and administrative malfeasance, until recently that  letter of dismissal was served on her and other heads.

All these are verifiable from the KSIRS and TAO FM.

While appealing that necessary measures be taken to bring back our dear Radio station back on air, I also want urge the public to always sieve information properly before casting aspersions.

In summary, Tao FM station premises wasn’t locked down because the GM was sacked, the GM was sacked because of finance mismanagement, and the station was locked because they defaulted on their tax obligations.

It is unfair that some people are linking this development to a particular senatorial candidate, the adverse effect of such is even to the detriment of the said candidate. I do hope they learn. My own is to say it the way it is.
