The stage is set for an exciting final round between Emmanuel International Academy, Iyara and Government Special Science Secondary School, Egbeda in the ongoing Akinrin of Ekinrin Inter-School Debate Competition.
The final event is scheduled to hold during the Akinrin Day 2025 on June 14th.
In the semi finals of the Akinrin of Ekinrin Inter-School Debate Competition, Emmanuel International Academy Iyara triumphed over Lightcom Knowledge Academy Ekinrin Adde with a score of 437 to 431.
Also, in the second group, Government Special Science Secondary School Egbeda emerged victorious against Ijumu Anglican Science Secondary School Iyara, winning with a score of 447 to 427.
It has been a long and eventful journey for the finalists, edging out other outstanding schools to berth at the final state of the competition.
The second stage of the debate competition had eight schools participating – Emmanuel international Academy Iyara, CHS Iyara, Ijumu, Anglican Science Secondary School Iyara, Muslim High school Iyara, GSSSS Egbeda Egga, BHS Ekinrin Adde, CCC Ekinrin Adde and Lightcom International Academy Ekinrin Adde.

Reacting to the development, Comrade Aribido David Jayeoba congratulated all students and participating schools in Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu federal constituency for showcasing their commendable qualities.
“I am so proud of our students. Aside the finalists, all participating schools showed brilliance and this showed we have a great future in Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu federal constituency.
“I congratulate the finalists and cannot but be filled with pride seeing how far both schools have come in this competition.
“This competition has further exposed great gems we have in our schools and I call on all public spitirted patriots to invest more in our schools, assist with upgrade in education infrastructures and continue to motive both teachers and students to excel in life,” he said.
