FCE Okene Commences Degree Programme, 1st Intakes to Resume March 11

Federal College of Education Okene, an affiliate of University of Ibadan has fixed March 11th for it resumption date for students admitted into the 2012/2013 academic session for the commencing of its degree programmes.

The fixed date for resumption was made known to us in an exclusive phone chat on Monday by the College’s Director of Undergraduate Programme, Mr Oyibo Godwin, who speaking on the commencement plans for the College’s degree progamme.

According to him, “successful candidates in the admission exercise of the Federal College for Education Okene affiliated degree programme with the University of Ibadan are to be informed that the resumption date for 2012/2013 academic session is fixed for Monday 11th March, 2013.”

Mr Oyibo, further added that students are advised to “visit the College’s website “www.fceokene.net” for details as from Tuesday 5th March, 2013.”

It will be recalled that 261 students were granted admission by the University of Ibadan to become the pioneering students of the College’s degree programme newly acquired awarding status.

The UI affiliated college will be offering 12 Education-related courses will it gets underway from March 11.

The start of the undergraduate studies will bring a stop to the Federal College of Education’s 18 years of wait to becoming a degree awarding institution and a dream come through for the Provost, Professor Iyela Ajayi.

Provost Iyela with argument will tagged the tarried success achieve under his tenure after a wait of two years though however saw more than five previous predecessors in the history of the College unsuccessful to attain.
