Honorable member representing Ikeja Federal Constituency, Lagos State at the Federal House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, has expressed his heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of late Chief Joseph Olanrewaju Owoeye.
Chief Owoeye, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and a respected figure in Isanlu Land, passed away on March 11, 2024, at the age of 74.
In his statement, Rt. Hon. Faleke praised Chief Owoeye’s significant contributions to the educational and political development of Kogi state and remembered him as a man of substance who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Ho noted that as a chief lecturer at the Kogi State Polytechnic, Chief Owoeye made a lasting impact on the lives of his students and colleagues, and his dedication to the political development of Kogi state was unwavering.
“Chief Owoeye’s legacy extends beyond his professional accomplishments, as he was also known for his advocacy for power rotation in Kogi state and his involvement in the political landscape alongside the Audu/Faleke political family. His commitment to justice and fairness in governance endeared him to many, and his passing has left a void in the hearts of those who admired him.
“As the people of Kogi state mourn the loss of Chief Owoeye, they do so with gratitude for the influence he had on their lives. His integrity, wisdom, and generosity have left an indelible mark on the community, and his memory will continue to inspire future generations to uphold his values of unity and service,” he said.
Rt. Hon. Faleke urged his family members to find solace in the belief that Chief Owoeye’s spirit will live on through the lessons he imparted and the example he set. He added that Owoeye’s legacy of compassion and dedication will serve as a guiding light for those who continue his work and strive for a better future for their community.
