Unity is a good and a pleasant thing especially among brethren – members of the same family, of the same Ikoyi-Ijumu community, and of her resident ethnic nationalities of the Ebiras, Bassa and Fulani extraction within our great nation Nigeria.
And why not? Among the great family of humanity that are represented in Ikoyi Obele in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State, on Monday, 27th April 2020, under the leadership of our esteemed king, His Royal Highness, Oba Japhet Abiodun Ohuneniese, the Olukoyi of Ikoyi-Ijumu, accompanied by his Traditional Council of Chiefs, the newness of so many blessings upon our homeland is from heaven; and we give all glory and honour to the Almighty God for making this a wonderful COVID-19 Palliative distribution day to be long remembered.
On behalf of the National Executive Committee and distinguished members of the Ikoyi Development Association (IDA), l wish to express our heartfelt congratulatory messages to the home branch Chairman, Elder Sunday Obamiyi and his Executives and COVID-19 Relief Distribution Committee Chairman, Hon Ibinaiye Tunde Laiye and his team, for the job well done in ensuring equity and justice in a transparent manner that has ensured that a token of the love gifts is dished out to all in such a lovely atmosphere.
May God reward all your efforts.
Meanwhile, individuals and families that were inadvertently omitted in this exercise would be collated and addressed.
Most of all, let me extend our goodwill and prayers of thanksgiving to the donors that God has used to provide such colourful packages. May God reward your sacrifices and recognise you with promotions and special awards.
We welcome more donations in cash and kinds and I can assure you that they are still pouring in and I am sure you’ll not hesitate to gather again for such sweat occasions as today’s, as soon as the opportunity to do so present itself.
At the end of it all we shall present a ROLL OF HONOURS for our donors, to the glory of the Almighty God. This is one of the products of our peaceful coexistence from the spirit of cooperation and solidarity under the leadership of our king, HRH, the Olukoyi of Ikoyi-Ijumu, and we shall not relent in our responsibility as one strong and united IDA as we put our trust in God for greater multiplication.
