Ex-Kogi Speaker Bags Man of Conscience Award

The member representing Lokoja I State constituency and former Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Umar Ahmed Imam has emerged as an Ambassador of Ethics and Man of Conscience 2017.
This was made known yesterday at his Lokoja GRA home when he was inducted into the League of Our Excellencies & Ambassadors of Ethics and Man of Conscience Hall of Fame by the Executive Director of Centre for Ethics and Self Value Orientation (CESVO), Prince Salih Yakubu.
At the brief ceremony, which was attended by the former speaker’s friends, aides, party members, friends and family, the Centre said the former speaker merited the award base on the secret findings they carried out across the 36 States of Nigeria and the FCT of  Public servants and indeed, Lawmakers who have done very well in their own rating and parameters put in place.
According to Prince Salih, the Legislator performance appraisal score-cards of Rt. Hon. Umar Ahmed Imam, whose personal leadership traits was independently assessed in the following thematic areas, reads as follow: Office/Committee attendance 74%, Advanced Emotional Intelligence 72%, Constituency Project/Policy Performance 77%, Public Accessibility 89%, National Interest 87%, Time Management Skills 79%, Servicom Compliance 73%, Innovative Leadership and Ethical Conducts 75%, Participation on the Floor of the House 76%, and Involvement in Community Development 78%. He went on to say that this score card certified the former speaker as a “Public Governance Ethics Ambassador 2017”, a status that is not financially induced but merited base on performance on ground.
In the same vein, Lokoja I State Constituency, where Rt. Hon. Imam represents as its 6th Member, got a “Certificate of Credence” having had the Constituency’s Project performance and activities independently assessed between 2016-2017 without prior knowledge of the Legislator and having scored 77% to emerge among the 100 highly rated most ethically responsible State Legislators in Nigeria, 2017.
Rt. Hon. Imam, while thanking the Centre for recognizing his modest performance and  achievement, despite the challenges facing them as lawmakers, as he strives to provide purposeful legislative leadership and quality representation for his Constituents and the State at large assured them of his constant stand with the people and his unapologetic stand on providing good governance to the people of Kogi State and indeed, Nigeria.
In a related event, Umar Yakubu Ali, the Chief Press Secretary to Rt. Hon. Umar Ahmed Imam was certified and enlisted amongst 500 Most Ethically Responsible Aides serving the public servants in Nigeria 2017 by the Centre for Ethics and Self Value Orientation (CESVO). According to the Centre, his certification and subsequent enlistment was premised on his self discipline, time management skills, dedication, selfless service to humanity and ethical uprightness in the workplace. He was therefore, presented an “Ethical Conduct Award” certificate.
The Centre for Ethics and Self Value Orientation (CESVO) is an International Non Governmental Organization (NGO) working in the area of promoting ethical leadership, exposing corruption, ethical education and value orientation of global citizens with it corporate headquarters in Lokoja, Kogi State.
