People have been asked to make their stay on earth memorable by living legacies of service to God and humanity.
Kogi State Governor, Capt Idris Wada, gave the charge at the funeral service of late Patience Mameh, immediate past Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development.
The Governor who was represented by his Deputy, Yomi Awoniyi, said the late Commissioner showed remarkable commitment to women and social affairs as well demonstrated in-depth passion in advancing the cause of women.
The Governor commended her for always placing the issues of women on the front burner while she served in state executive council, prayed God to grant her soul eternal rest.
The Governor who said the government and people of the state share in the grief of the death of the former Commissioner,urged the family she left behind to be consoled by her good attributes and the positive image she portrayed of the family.
In her remarks at the funeral, Hajia Halimat Wada, Wife of the Kogi State Governor, described the death of late Patience Mameh as a colossal loss in the cause for the emancipation of women in the state, said the deceased will be greatly remembered for her friendly disposition to life, her sense of humor and above all her humane consideration, prayed God to grant her soul eternal rest.
The first lady consoled with the family the deceased left behind and said she will be greatly missed by women across the state.
In a welcome remarks at the funeral, Hon Zakito Umar, Council Chairman, Igalamela-Odolu LGA, described the deceased as a great woman whose personality and love of her people had positive influence, said she will be greatly missed but will be remembered for her good deeds.
In a remarks, Elder Friday Sani, Member representing Igalamela- Odolu LGA, said the death is a loss that will be difficult to fill, describing late Patience Mameh as a woman whose love for women knows no bound.
In his homely at the funeral, Rev Father Kenneth Ndivie, of Saint Boniface Cathedral,Idah, urged christians to see death as a passage to meet with christ jesus, appealed to christians to live godly lives as christ thought the church, and described the deceased as a woman who cared for the less privilege and the needy in the society.
