This opinion is dedicated to those jittery about an indecorous wall of Bailing that the ruling party posits to have erected in Kogi state. Those jaded and are waiting for another four years (end of Bello’s second tenure), and those perplexed due to the oppositions’ inactiveness.
Candidly, you are justified because it’s impossible to take politicking away from Yahaya Bello and Co. When it comes to the game he knows his ounce. However, I do not wish to bore you with the past antecedent (where even the incumbent was ousted) in order to drive home my point. But to take you indepthly through some sensitive engagements that will perhaps navigate the current notion.
Kogi state is at its test of time politically, am I right? And all things been equal, furtherance of the the status quo may exit the most cherished confluence city. To this extent, Wada’s emergence as the flag bearer of the party we leveraged to provide our Moses was the least among expectations. And the manner in which he is going about it pose obviously that Bello will defeat him with a wide margin.
I was one of those who saw the laxity, and I didn’t hesitate to voice my feelings. I said even if he wins, he has nothing to offer. And that we are still been gripped by the ruling family. I guessed this and many others formed the basis of a discontented Wada’s mandate. Quite apt. Unfortunately, I will disappoint us here. If not on anything, for the fact that we were so rapt to unjustly ignore the existing and perhaps, exhibited favorable odds.
Again, Wada came as surprise to many. And I like to state unequivocally that his achievements (if elected) would be unprecedented. This is not about selling his candidature but about facts and figures that supercedes sentiment. It would take many unaware. Even his rivals will not deny it. I was opportuned to have a glance on his blueprints. I also had an extensive chats with some concerned stakeholders. Trust me, if this is an assumption, the basis is from the brains behind Wada’s political mantra. If this is prophecy, I urge everyone to key into it. Oh yes! As governance is about successive process, so is government’s achievement- collective efforts. And those forming Wada’s team have the wherewithal, no doubt.
We have heard of enterprise Kogi state, and we have also heard of processes that could land the confluence city as the 10th most economically viable in Africa. We have heard a liberal process that depicts youths industriously. Above all, there would be a wide margin between freedom and slavery, oppression and liberty.
Wada’s team are technocrats whose antecedents are riddled with virtues such as integrity and honor. Those who believe, uphold, and advocate the sanctity of morality. As a matter of fact, I am tempted but will recline calling their names till when the time is right. But trust me Kogi is on its way to an enviable height.
Wada’s performance in the Lugard House will take people unaware. Check these out; We thought Bello can and will do the needful, he failed unexpectedly. Wada was least expected in the flank of who should emerge PDP’s candidate, he eventually rose to the top. We also thought the house is divided beyond reconciliation. Today, those who instituted legal case had withdrawn. Even those who rejected appointments are now the major frontier.
I will try hard to avoid the temptation of analyzing the campaign meetings of both parties so far because it’s undoubtedly not about gathering or renting mammoth crowd. But don’t you think there’ve been a redefinition of the existing notion? Are these not capable of defiling the Ideology that the oppositions had either concurred or felt the ruling APC is too sophisticated to wrestle power from?
At this critical moment, those who rant and brag about election or reelection are those with nothing to offer. They just wanted a title of former governorship aspirant or former governor of Kogi state with which to entice their concubines. What Eng. Musa Wada needs to change the current narrative is what makes him outstanding in the comity of contestants.
Check his manifestos and you will be convinced that Wada is most needed at this critical time.
We will meet again.
