The Special Adviser to the Kogi State Governor on Grassroots Mobilisation, Hon. Enejoh Sani Simon, has commended Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for constituting a high-powered committee to coordinate the state burial arrangements for former Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris.
Enejoh Sani described the governor’s decision as a demonstration of respect for the legacy and contributions of the former governor, stressing the importance of giving the deceased a befitting final honour.
In a statement, the governor’s aide expressed appreciation to Governor Ododo for taking deliberate steps to ensure that the burial arrangements are conducted in a manner that reflects the status and contributions of the former governor to the development of Kogi State.
He said the establishment of the committee underscored the seriousness attached to the burial arrangements and demonstrated the state government’s commitment to according the late former governor the respect he deserves.
According to him, Governor Ododo has shown leadership and sensitivity by ensuring that all necessary arrangements are put in place for a dignified state burial.
Enejoh Sani further urged members of the committee and relevant stakeholders to work together to ensure the successful coordination of the burial activities.
He extended his condolences to the family, friends and associates of the late former governor, praying for strength and comfort for them during the period of mourning.
The late Alhaji Ibrahim Idris served as Governor of Kogi State and was widely associated with the administration of the state during his tenure.
