End of Ramadhan: ‘God Will Flood Kogi State With Happiness and Joy’ – Awoniyi

Kogi State Deputy Governor, Yomi Awoniyi, has called on Muslims to make enduring the lessons of kindness, fear of God, spirit of sharing with the needy imbibed during the holy month of Ramadan.

Awoniyi, gave the admonition in his Ed-el-fitri message, signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Abu Micheal, congratulated Muslims for the successful completion of the month Ramadan.

According to statement, Awoniyi felicitated with  Muslims on the celebration, urged them to make the lessons of Ramadan fast a lasting experience through sustained devotion to Allah, upholding the teachings of the Quran and the holy prophet,  for the Ramadan fast not to be an exercise in futility.

“It is imperative that Muslim faithful, especially those fortunate enough to be in positions of authority, translate the culture of piety, devotion and total submission to the will of Allah towards ensuring a society free of want, poverty and hunger”, he counseled.

The Deputy Governor advised Muslims, and indeed Nigerians, to shun all forms of vices that could hinder harmonious existence with people of other faiths.

“We must continue to appreciate that our strength as a people lie in our ethnic and religious diversity’s. Hence, we should maximize the inherent advantages in such diversity’s through understanding and respect of the essence of the different faiths”, the Deputy Governor said.

He reminded Muslims to celebrate the eid-il-fitr with moderation, prayed “God to flood Kogi State with happiness and all the joy of life as we celebrate another festival”.
