Wife of Kogi State Finance Commissioner, Hajia Rukayat Idris Asiru has described women as catalysts of economic growth.
Asiru made this known during the empowerment initiative she organized for women selected from the ten wards on Yagba East local government area of Kogi State.
Beneficiaries, who were randomly selected from the ten wards, got a professional make-up kits worth N50,000 Naira each after thorough training conducted by experts.
At the final ceremony in Isanlu on Sunday, Hajia Asiru stated that her empowerment initiative was designed to compliment the efforts of Governor Yahaya Bello and the first lady, Mrs Rashida Bello.
She noted that when a woman is fully engaged it will go a long way to help their families and also compliment their husband in the upbringing of their children.
She commended her husdand, Mukadam Idris Asiru for his numerous assistance to women in Yagba East LGA.
Certificates of participation were issued to the participants with the assurances that they are fit to work any where in the world.
The participants appreciated the good gestures of Hajia Rukayat Asiru for coming out in a different dimension to wipe away their tears and giving them a future.
