Ekirin-Adde Development Association To Mark Golden Jubilee Anniversary June 21

The Ekinrin-Adde Community Development Association of Ijumu Local Government Area in Kogi State will on Saturday, June 21, 2014 celebrate its golden jubilee anniversary. The event which will take place in the Ekinrin Adde ultra-modern multi-purpose hall will have the Executive Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Captain Idris Ichalla Wada and his Deputy Arch. Yomi Awoniyi as Special Guest of Honour and Guest of Honour respectively.

A statement signed by the Chairman, Local Organising Committee, Pastor Stanley Ajileye and the Secretary, Prof. Gbenga Ibileye said the event will witness the maiden edition of the Ekinrin Adde Annual Lecture Series to be delivered by the National President of the Nigerian Historical Society, Prof. Yemi Akinwumi of Nasarawa State University. The title of the lecture is ‘The Ekinrin Adde People: History, Culture and Aspirations’.

The Statement said further that the event will be used to launch a Four Hundred Million Naira (N400,000,000.00) infrastructural development fund for the community

Ekinrin-Adde is a leading light in Community development efforts in Ijumu land, having to its credit a series of firsts in the local government area: the first primary school, first secondary school, first postal agency and first community maternity home among other projects, all through community efforts.

The Community is equally well known for academic exploits, parading an array of high-flying senior academics in some of the top-flight universities within Nigeria and all over the world. The community boasts of over 12 Professors and many Associate Professors who are indigenes.
