The Ekinrin Community National Association (ECNA) has extended heartfelt congratulations to His Royal Majesty, Oba Johnson Kolade Otitoju, the Akinrin of Ekinrinland, on the occasion of his third coronation anniversary, coinciding with the Kogi State Government’s official proclamation elevating him to the status of a First-Class Monarch.
In a statement issued on behalf of the sons, daughters, and stakeholders of Ekinrinland both at home and in the diaspora, the association described the dual milestone as a moment of profound joy for the entire community. The proclamation formally recognizes the Akinrin of Ekinrinland’s stool as a First-Class traditional institution, a status the association says reflects the throne’s historical significance and standing within Kogi State’s traditional hierarchy.
The statement was signed by Aribido David Jayeoba on behalf of the Ekinrin Community National Association.

According to ECNA, the three years since Oba Otitoju ascended the throne of his forebears have been defined by visionary leadership, fatherly guidance, and consistent commitment to the welfare of his people. The association credited his reign with ushering in a period of relative peace, cultural revival, and community-driven development, positioning Ekinrinland as a model of unity within the region.
The association also framed the government’s recognition as more than a personal honor for the monarch, describing it as a collective achievement for every indigene of Ekinrin. Members said the elevation formally secures the community’s place within the traditional structures of Kogi State and beyond, and expressed the view that the milestone affirms a sense of divine favor over the community.
In its message, ECNA offered prayers for the monarch’s continued good health, longevity, and wisdom as he continues to lead Ekinrinland, expressing hope that his reign remains peaceful and prosperous in the years ahead.
