Ekele Hails Bello’s Emergence as APC Flagbearer

Pledges unflinching support to his second term bid.

Blessing Aisha Ekele, a woman leader of  All Progressive Congress (APC) and a strong contender of the party governorship ticket in the just concluded primary election for November 16 gubernatorial election in Kogi state, where the incumbent governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello emerged as the standard bearer, has described the victory of Governor Bello as the best that has happened to the party and the people of the state in the recent times.

In a press statement issued shortly after the APC primary election at the Confluence stadium, Lokoja on Thursday, the APC chieftain said the election was free, fair and in tandem with the party guidelines in such an outing.

Ekele stated that the emergence of the incumbent governor is not a surprise as he has kept people spell bound with his positive achievements, describing him as a square peg in a square hole. 

The woman leader of APC from Olamaboro local government area of Kogi state stated that as a consistent and loyal party member, and as someone who have been following the activities of governor Bello since the inception of his administration, “he has shown that he remains detribalised person who meant well for the people of the state.

“Governor Yahaya Bello remains the star of the moment that can address the teething challenges bedevilling the state whose some former leaders have bastardized with unpopular policies that had bred all kind of sentiments, which today are affecting the good people of the state.

“What this man of history needs now is our supports,  unflishing loyalty and undiluted advice that can assist him to take the state out of the woods.

“In this vein, I and my political team have resolved to stand by him in his attempts to find solution to cropping issues that will place the state in the committee of great states in the country”, she expressed in a statement.

While she advised  those that contested the slot in the party primary election with governor Bello and lost to sheath their swords and join hands with him to take the state to the next level.

Ekele enjoined the party, both at the state and national levels, to initiate move without delay to settled the aggrieved as one family before the November 16 election,  where she hoped the party will come out victorious.

The former APC ticket contender who is also the Magajia1 of Yekenaije Kingdom in Nassarawa state poured encomium on the chief of staff to the governor,  Chief Edward Onoja for his quality advice in the struggle which has helped in no small measure in the victory of governor Bello at the party primary election.

Also, she commended the party leadership, both at the national and the state for their role which made the primary election a rancour -free , saying that the achievement at the party primary election would not have taken place without the astute leadership style of President Mohammed Buhari,  Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole as well as the state chairman of the party, Abdullahi Bello and others who kept to the rules of the engagement  as it affect the choice of leadership at the state for this plumb job.
