The building of community town hall has been kick-started at Ejule, the ancient commercial nerve-centre of Igala land, with the laying of the foundation stone by executives of Ejule Forum led by a community elder, Hon. Yahaya Momoh, at Oforo area of the town, as one of the activities to mark Ejule Day 2016.
Performing the foundation laying ceremony on behalf of Onu Ejule, Honourable Yahaya Momoh prayed God to give the community the financial strength to complete the gigantic project, even as the community calls on Kogi State Government to come to their aid in actualizing other monumental projects such as skill acquisition centre, among others.
Other matters that borders the community in which they call for government attention was epileptic electricity supply and need to replace some malfunctioning transformers as well as security issues.
Addressing members of the community earlier at dinner meeting, the chairman of Ejule forum, Mr. Friday Okolo, said the community made efforts at renovating the government cottage hospital in the town.
He said the community is deeply bothered about the rate of unemployment in the community and its environs and call on governments and other stakeholders to come to their aid as the phenomenon has generated act of criminality and hooliganism in the town.
One of the events that marked the 2016 Ejule Day celebration was the visit to the family of some deceased prominent members of the community where financial stipends were given for their upkeep.
