The lawmaker representing Okene l State constituency has congratulated Muslims on the conclusion of the Ramadan fast.
In his Sallah message through his Media Aide, Comr. Danfulani Lukman to mark the end of the Ramadan fasting period, Hon. Lawi stressed the importance of putting the virtues of Islam into practice beyond the fasting season.
While congratulating Muslims on completing the spiritually significant month of sacrifice, Hon. Lawi urged them to reflect on the importance of Ramadan in becoming good ambassadors of Islam at all times.
According to the lawmaker, “religion should be the moral compass for all believers in their public and personal lives,” adding that “if people allow the teachings of their religions to influence their conducts, problems such as corruption, thuggery and banditery, would have been eliminated in the society.”
Also, Hon. Lawi called on Muslims as well as all Kogites to utilise this period to pray fervently for peace and unity in the state.
Hon. Lawi also called on the people of Kogi State to keep on praying for the government of President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Yahaya Bello to succeed and charged the people to come out enmass to support Gov. Yahaya Bello in the November governorship election.
