As Muslim faithfuls all over the world mark this year’s eid el Kabir celebration, the honorable member representing Ankpa 2 constituency at the Kogi state house of assembly, Hon Alfa Momoh Rabiu has congratulated the good people of Kogi state both Muslims and non Muslims alike while he called on Muslims worldwide to reflect and live on the true essence of the celebration.

In his congratulatory message from the Holy land of Makkah, where he is for hajj pilgrimage, the high ranking member observed that the annual sacrifice is anchored on the faith of prophet Ibrahim(Abraham) and it’s lessons among others centre on the spirit of letting go treasures.

“Eid must not stop at just the buying and killing of Rams, there should be reflection from the genesis, if you look at the way and manner ‘Nabi’ Ibrahim(referring to Abraham) offered to give his beloved son to God as sacrifice, you shall come to realize that the true lesson of this celebration is on faith.”

Speaking further he said, “for whatsoever reason, we must learn to let go treasures and things that may be very dear to us, especially for the common good of the masses. On this note, I am charging leaders, be it political, economic, traditional and religious leaders to always put the interest of the people first in all circumstances.”

Thereafter, he extended his most sincere good wishes to his immediate constituency, the Ojoku and Enjema districts of Ankpa local government area regretting all the hindrance and inconvenience the present economic situation of things may have caused in this celebration promising not to relent in his efforts to reach out to the people of the area as often as possible.
