The Deputy Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ahmed Mohammed has congratulated Muslims all across the country, particularly faithfuls in Kogi State and Ankpa 1 constituency as they celebrate Eid El Kabir.
In a special greetings sent out on Friday, the lawmaker admonished Muslims to offer prayers for the country and Kogi State.
According to him, Eid-el-Kabir is a time of spiritual reflection and self-improvement. He urged faithfuls to imbibe the virtues of Prophet Ibrahim, who, in obedience to God’s directive, was ready to sacrifice his only son.
He admonished the Muslim Ummah to reflect on the significance of the celebration, which he said bordered on encouraging piety, sacrifice and love, noting that without these, no state or society could advance.
“The significance of the season should be beyond the festivities. The real essence is to encourage piety, total commitment to Allah, self-discipline and sacrifice,” he said.
He advised Muslims to observe COVID-19 protocols strictly during and after the celebrations.
