The Founder/Chief Enterprise Officer of the EduShine Educational Support Foundation, Dr Safiya Stephanie Musa has felicitated with the Muslim faithfuls in the country on the celebration of this year’s Eid el Kabir.

According to her, the celebration of this year’s Sallah which coincides with the period of heightened fear about the spread of the coronavirus provides every Muslim the opportunity to pray more fervently and take personal measures that could help in containing the spread of of the dreaded disease. She is however optimistic that with sustained prayers and adherence to the guidelines provided by the health experts, the nation could overcome the challenges which the pandemic pose to the people.

Dr Safiya described the lessons of the Eid el Kabir, especially on sacrifice as most timely, noting that it was the spirit of sacrifice and sanctity of honouring promises that made Prophet Ibrahim to willingly agree to sacrifice his son, Ismail, but which Allah, in His infinity mercy replaced with ram.

She enjoined mankind to imbibe the lessons of the sacrifice and practice its spirits in dealing with one another.

The education enthusiast who uses her NGO, EduSchine Foundation to support indigent students promised to sustain her campaigns for the empowerment of indigent students and the girl child, but appealed to all public spirited individuals for continuous support and to always take the interest of the downtrodden in the society seriously by providing succour whenever necessary. According to her, everyone deserves the good things that life provides.

“I pledge that I will work harder to my commitment to the success of the campaign in order to create more opportunities for as many people as possible from the efforts,” she stressed.

“As we celebrate this year’s Eid, let no one take issues of personal health lightly by compromising the guidelines on prevention of the coronavirus disease, which were outlined by the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19. And every Muslim should use the occasion of the Eid to pray harder against further spread and infection from the disease,” she further stated

Dr Safiya also called for joint efforts in addressing the present apathy in our educational system to avoid a situation where those with certain talents but lack necessary opportunity to showcase them through education, are held back with the enormous potentials in them.

This, according to her is why she is excited about the opportunity which her platform provides for such indigent individuals whose potentials could have otherwise remain untapped.

She, therefore, appealed for more support from the various education ambassadors and supporters of the girl child empowerment to make the dreams of equal educational opportunity for all realisable.

She wishes all Nigerians a peaceful and successful Sallah celebration under the atmosphere of greater understanding in interfaith relationships.
