Kogi State Governor, Captain Idris Wada has approved free bus service for commuters in Lokoja on Saturday, October 4 as part of the celebration to mark the Eid-El-Kabir (Sallah) celebration in the state.
In a statement signed by Alhaji Abdulrahman Wuya, the state Commissioner for Transport in Lokoja on Friday, the free bus service is to commence from 8.00 am to 6:00 pm on Saturday.
Wada in the statement directed the management of Lokoja City Bus Service (Lokoja Metro) to implement the directive accordingly and ensure coverage of routes in the metropolis.

The governor in August, this year inaugurated the Lokoja City Bus Service with a fleet of 12 Leyland buses of 32-seater capacity.
The buses which were procured with SURE-P intervention funds have been running as social service to the people of the state at subsidized fare of N50.00 per drop on all routes.
