The raid of anti graft agency, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), turned out as wasted exercise after ransacking a soakaway believed to have used to stash away funds at the residence of the former Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Usman Jibrin in Anyigba.
The incidence was reported in the university town of Anyigba when fierce looking EFCC officials stormed the area for the operation led by DSP Madaki on Tuesday 21 February 2017 and left the broken soakaway unrepaired.
According to eye witness account, it was a mission turned sour as the anti graft agency operatives became dejected after series of attempts while breaking the soakaway owing to wrong security reports.
Unsuspecting residence of the area not privy to such operation look averse having watched effortlessly the action of the anti graft staffs who came in their numbers.
A visibly looking dejected staffers of the EFCC left the area after efforts to unravel empty suspicion was not forthcoming in a pick up hilux van.
A reliable source revealed that during the tenure of former Chief of Naval staff, Vice Admiral Usman Jibrin Rtd between 2014 and 2015 the sum of 4.9 billion which was released for capital project was sent to China for the procurement of NNS Centenary and NNS Unity.
