Fellow Kogites, the dice is cast! The center can no longer hold! It appeared what bonded Edward Onoja with his siamese brother oozing the impression that Yahaya Bello was ceremonially coronated back then had upon disguise, threw us in awe. And it seems the right hands in government have assumed a stance still unknown to the self-demystified folk still flaunting ego on pedestal he ought not to.

Let me once again, remind us of the immortal words of the late Chief Obafemi Awolowo; “Evil done to man by man shall be repelled, if not by man certainly by God. For the triumph of evil over good is temporary”.

Apparently, clauses like, “if not by man certainly by God”, “the triumph of evil over good is temporary” are quintessential to this piece. While the former drew moral verdict from deeds and actions of men that are inevitably efficacious, the latter emphasizes on consciousness with recourse to our dealings in this transient world.

Whereas, Edward found himself on the corridor of power and exploitatively built his political castle on the hilltop, the beckoning catch-22 (Lol) is still invisible to his sights. Yet, as a top beneficiary of paradigmatic power shift, Onoja exploited his clan without remorse to the divine precedent through which he came to power. As we speak, he’s power drunked, snoring and may soon wake up to reality- reality yet unknown to his fanny-lickers.

I saw it coming, it was envisaged when Igala Unity House and its enablers were exploited to a magnitude that bettered their political lots. Though, Onoja clearly knows that, just like any other profession, politics is a career which thrive with upsurge of time and circumstance. And instead of upholding certain indelible legacies of others within his peers, Onoja pull down structures meant to return power to the majority in 2019, and more painstakingly, we saw peanuts been handed over to the brains behind the age long structures in leu of a falling status.

As concerned citizens, we resisted the ugly trend but Onoja inaugurated his media brigands popularly called DATA BOYS who abated darkness over light. Today, we have a statesman representing Kogi East in the senate, willing to fulfill even the promises he never made. But as things stood, his dream may fade off with imagination because the team he (Senator Jibril Isah Echocho) works with was inaugurated by Emperor Edward Onoja and are very loyal to him.Fellow Kogites, this among others were the reason we advocated solemnly for a more competent and independent hands in the senate.

However, I sincerely hope that Echocho takes his political stand now that the same power which made him senator are hunting for him. Oh, the tiniest voice from the minority is controversial with this piece right? Soon, we would be confronted with unavoidable realities.

And let me tell whoever cares to listen, Echocho is still a big threat to 2023. Hence, his under performance will inadvertently fly their ambition. But then, what is in a name is bigger than a giant man. Edward should absorb this and stop playing god, especially now that Ebira had taken over their government. Or hasn’t he sensed that the seat he demeaned his brother to take over has also progressively declined his popularity? Well, I am not Achuba’s fan for failing to heed my initial advice, but what goes around comes around. Karma is on rampage and Achuba should rejoice that his traducers would not go away without reaping what they sow.

How greedy can a man be. Everyone knows Edward was in charge even as Chief of Staff. Yet, greed and self-conceit would not let. He dethroned Achuba and enthroned himself allotting deputy governor’s office what Achuba never get for three years in just one year. The Igala popular proverb- `enwu on`e n`e wefil’e ki’a ga `Otajia ebije (how long must one live on earth to sow and iron hat) says it all.

Edward’s insatiable quests has put his luck on stress. Unfortunately, the stewardship of both the former and the current chief of staff is dimensioned but not correlated. While Edward (former Chief of Staff) politicized virtually everything, Pharmacist AbdulKareem Asuku (Bello’s current Chief of Staff) focuses on revamping the already denigrated Yahaya Bello’s political image.

Edward Onoja as CoS was an opportunist who leverage his position to split, betray and stigmatized his kinsmen. But Pharm. Asuku is a strategic unifier who has sought inclusiveness of all and sundry across party lines. Asuku has successfully established a process that may retain power with the minority for a long time.

And while Edward willingly allowed himself to be manipulated against his kinsmen, Asuku keeps pact with his kinsmen, ensuring that it’s Anebira time to rule Kogi state, and that no Igala should dictate what, where, and how things should be done. No wonder it’s scholarly established that his political elevation leveraged a humanitarian antecedent. As DG protocol (appointed in 2016), Asuku remains a reference point for his unrivaled prowess. It’s also believed that Asuku’s display of qualitative political sagacity portended Yahaya Bello’s administration as people-oriented government.

But what did we get from Edward? A strategic politico who had politicized even foods meant for his kinsmen. He called them all forms of name and even boasted (in a video) that under his government, certain things would never happen. But now, he has eaten his cake and still want to have it back- greed.

If the picture of Asuku asking Edward to leave his office currently trending was not photo-shoped, and if Yahaya Bello truly asked his aides to report directly to him, perhaps, if truly Onoja’s commissioners’ list was rejected outrightly, then the dice is cast! Ane-Egbira had assumed full control of their government and the purported eulogies (from the governor to his deputy recently) is simply a vote of thanks to Edward Onoja for having played active role in his first tenure (best described as a tenure of political gangsterslism).

I have said this before and I will repeat myself, the idea that Edward Onoja will succeed Yahaya Bello or some media brigands and political troubleshooters would flourish for another 12 years thrives only in the figment of imagination. Anyone propagating this may be wallowing in illusion. But then, I want to see how Edward will survive the dazzling furnace.
