The Kogi State government said at the weekend that it has placed its health workers on alert in view of the Ebola disease which is ravaging in some African countries.

In a statement by the state Commissioner for Health, Idris Omede, the state government urged health workers to be on alert and take all precautionary measures when attending to suspected or confirmed cases.

He also urged them to ensure that any suspected case is reported to either the local government authorities or state government.

Omede said the disease has no cure yet, but that the state can maintain, aid and balance victims of the disease.

He stressed the need for members of the public to keep themselves and environments clean at all times.
