Comrade Danfulani Ohinoyi Lukman, on Friday in a meeting with the state stakeholders at Lokoja, urged the people of the state to shun religious sentiments, ethnic sentiments, eschew violence and live in peace with one another in order for the state to attain its desired developmental dreams.
Comrade Danfulani, the president of Ebira Must Be Better Group, in a statement issued in Lokoja on Friday made available to newsmen, urged the people to focus on good governance and genuine development, being the new
government’s priority.
The statement said: “Our good people of Kogi State, we are again grateful for the peaceful coexistence in the
last election.
“I am begging you in the name of Almighty God to live in peace and work together for a new Kogi State.
“Let us all strategise for a better state where peace, unity and development would abound by sowing positive seeds in the minds of our children.
“Let us create a better state for the future generations by building for them a stronger Kogi State.’’
“I urge the people of the state to pray fervently for the new administration, and give their maximum support and cooperation for a better Kogi State.
Comrade Danfulani further advised the people to beware of those who hide under the guise of religion to foment trouble, adding that “manipulators of religion do not mean good to the people and the society as a whole.’’
“I will continue to say it, those deceiving the citizens using religion and ethnicity do not mean well.
“They are dangerous and they retard the progress as a people bound together by God; we must mobilise ourselves to stand up for the common good,’’ he said.
” The Governor-elect has pledged to treat all people equally, without any recourse to religion, ethnic or political
bias. Let us all put hand on deck to support this young and vibrant governor to build a better Kogi for us and the future generations.
