The Kogi central, which is the home of the good people of Ebira will play host to the annual Ebira carnival, come December 26th, 2013.
The Ebira carnival is an annual event showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the people of Ebiraland, art and craft with the blend of the contemporary carnival pattern. The Ebira ethnicity cut across Kogi, Plateau, Nassarawa, Edo and Benue as the fourth largest ethnic group in Nigeria.
The event will feature showbiz personalities, particularly Ebira Actors and Actresses in Nollywood, home and in diaspora, the carnival parade round Ebira land, cultural display, Art and craft, food and delicacies of the Ebira people.

In a press release signed by Suberu Onimisi Nusa, the Carnival coordinator explain the importance of the carnival in creating the much needed atmosphere for tourism and providing the needed social platform for young and old to mingle, re-engaging the youths of Ebiraland positively.
Expected to grace the carnival is the Federal minister of culture and tourism, Dr Edem Duke, as special guest of honour, Governor Idris Wada as the chief host, His Royal Majesty, Dr. Ado Ibrahim as the Royal father of the day and also in attendance will be prominent sons and daughters of Ebira.

In a related development, the LOC chairman, Alhaji Ismail Abubakar assure all the carnival stakeholders and the citizenry of a bigger and better carnival as more innovations are geared toward a successful carnival.
The carnival Director of Culture, Isa Topa Marcus reinstated an increase in the local content of the carnival with the Ebira weaving cloth taking the lead in the costume of the forthcoming carnival. He also said most of the indigeneous culture will be featured to add colour to the event.
In recent times, the carnival is noted as the largest social gathering of the people of Ebiraland and making the Kogi central a tourist destination for the end of year calender. Its celebrations of colours and showcasing cultural heritage of over hundred years.
