Easter: Yomi Awoniyi Urge Christians in Kogi State to Serve as Agents of Positive Change

Nigerians especially Christians have been called upon to imbibe and to reflect on the lessons associated with the crucifixion of the Lord Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary.

Yomi Awoniyi, the Kogi State Deputy Governor gave the advise in his message on this year’s Good Friday to Christians.

Awoniyi urged Christians to allow the spirit of sacrifice, forgiveness and love for one another be their watchwords.

The nation, Awoniyi explained may be passing through a challenging phase of nation building, he however called on those who feel cheated to overlook, those who are denied to be patient, those who feel offended to forgive, for the good of the nation.

The Deputy Governor urged those who are blessed by God to however be grateful and to extend hands of compassion to the less privilege.

Awoniyi, disclosed that the present administration in the state has made self discipline, sacrifice, empathy and sincerity watchwords in its dealing with the people and added that the present administration is purposefully determined to make a difference in the lives of the people.

The Deputy Governor commended Christians for successfully completing this years Lenten period, a period, he noted was associated with abstinence, self restraint and sober reflection.

While urging Christians in the State to serve as agents of positive change, the administration of Capt Idris Wada, Awoniyi disclosed is resolute in improving the living standard of the people through sincere leadership.
