The Ekinrin-Adde Community Development Association (EACDA) has warned individuals and groups against making reckless and provocative attacks on the Member representing Ikeja Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke.

The warning follows a recent press conference addressed by one Alfred Bello, who alleged that Rt. Hon. Faleke was responsible for political unrest in Kogi State and called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to intervene.

In a statement made available to the press, the association described the allegations as reckless, malicious, unfounded, and politically motivated. It urged political actors and public commentators to embrace responsible, constructive, and issue-based engagements instead of resorting to false accusations and character assassination.

The EACDA maintained that Rt. Hon. Faleke remains a peaceful, responsible, and distinguished son of Okunland and Ekinrin-Adde whose political engagements have consistently reflected respect for democratic principles, the rule of law, and the collective interest of the people.

The association noted that although he represents a federal constituency in Lagos State, his commitment to the growth and development of Kogi State has never diminished. It highlighted his numerous interventions across the state, including the installation of solar-powered streetlights, construction and renovation of classrooms, road projects, solar-powered boreholes, medical outreaches, educational support, agricultural empowerment, youth and women empowerment programmes, and other community development initiatives that have positively impacted thousands of residents.

According to the association, portraying such a committed public servant as an instigator of crisis is not only false but a deliberate attempt to mislead the public and discredit years of selfless service.

The EACDA stressed that political disagreements must never degenerate into campaigns of calumny or deliberate misinformation. It warned that those who persist in spreading falsehood capable of creating unnecessary tension should be prepared to answer for the consequences of their actions.

The association reiterated the very cordial relationship that exists between Kogi State governor, Usman Ahmed Ododo, and Rt Hon. James Abiodun Faleke which is exemplified in the attendance of his Deputy as a representative of the Governor at the recent Ekinrin-Adde Day Cultural celebrations a few days ago.

The statement further stated that whatever sinister motives the masterminds of this deliberate false narrative harbour remains a figment of their warped mindsets and satanic imagination.

The association observed that Rt. Hon. Faleke’s national political network and cordial relationship with the Presidency remain valuable assets that should be harnessed for the benefit of Kogi State rather than subjected to needless attacks.

It called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to disregard the allegations, describing them as baseless and intended to tarnish the image of a lawmaker with an established record of loyalty, service, and democratic commitment.

The EACDA also called on relevant security agencies to investigate individuals and groups responsible for disseminating false and inflammatory information capable of disturbing public peace. It expressed confidence that no campaign of blackmail, misinformation, or political propaganda would diminish Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke’s towering credibility, intimidating reputation, and  enduring contributions to the development of Kogi State and Nigeria.
