I have lamentably watched the rape of fortune and pride of my dear Kogi State, and, not been able to stomach my pain, I have several times spoken aloud on social media that Kogi State was, and is deprived of its opportunity to enjoy the pride of place in the country, having housed the government of the colonial lords.
As part of my quest for powershift in order to give room for even and rapid development of the state, and considering my intense interest in the local politics, especially of state, I have come to say, not because I was paid to do so, or I intend to be paid for it to state, in defiance of its cumulative resultant effect, that from the crops of men vying for the governorship position in Kogi State, Dr Yaqeen Habeeb will make the best governor.
A philantropist, a banker, an academic, a lover of education and a God-fearing Muslim, Dr Yaqeen Abdullahi Habeeb will make a praiseworthy leader if he is given an opportunity by the APC to bear its flag in the forthcoming gubernatorial election of the state.

Though some of the many contestants in the forthcoming election in the state were former bankers and some are proprietors of secondary schools, as much as I know, my confidence in Yaqeen’s ability to make a better leader stems from the fact that, though I do neither speak his language nor come from his zone, the little time I spent with him as my employer revealed to me the very person he is.
As an employer, Dr Yaqeen did not exert undue pressure on his employees, and his desire for excellence through organised seminars for teachers built many of us free of chargeĀ while we were with him. Taking a cue from that lilliputian or microcosmic environment and measuring it against a larger ground, it is safe for me to establish that Dr Yaqeen will make a better Kogi State.
I have worked with different proprietors, and none can be compared to him. He is consultative, believing that he does not know it all even though he is a first class graduate in Economics. Through this, he employed competent hands to lead. Interpreting this on a higher ground, Yaqeen is sure to employ living brains as opposed to greedy heads we have had to man the state from hack and hired afternoon and never-do-well politicians.
Making a good leader is not by size, for Dr Yaqeen may neither be too big as you would hope to see nor be too vocal as it is typical of lying and deceptive politicians. My confidence comes from the fact that Dr Yaqeen Habeeb has passion for excellence, yet he is calm, collected, focused and determined about it.
This piece of writing is but an expression of my personal assessment and testimony of Dr Habeeb Abdullahi Yaqeen, and it is not intended as a piece of political campaign. It is only and chiefly intended to tell those who may see Dr Habeeb Yaqeen as a stranger and to tell them that they have the best leader in him.
