United Kingdom based economist, Dr. Sam Omale, has extended his sincere wishes to both Christian and Muslims in Kogi state as the Holy month begins.
Dr. Omale, a governorship candidate in the 2023 election in Kogi state, described the period as solemn and urged the people to use the period for self reflection and devotion through prayer and fasting.
According to him, it is not a coincidence that both faiths are embarking on this journey on the same day but a divine orchestration. He said religion or faith is a personal thing and therefore they should be allowed to practice their faith without fear.
“People should be able to but live in harmony and be tolerant of each other,” he said.
Dr Omale, who is contemplating running again come 2027, urged people to shun politicians who weaponize religion to divide their for their own selfish reasons.
The governorship aspirant explained that this blessed month reminds both Muslims and Christians of their shared duty to support each other, fostering a prosperous, just and peaceful nation.
Dr Omale extended his heartfelt congratulations and wishes to both Muslims and Christian as they embark on this blessed fasting period urging them to take this opportunity to pray for peace, prosperity and progress in Kogi state and Nigeria.
He called on both Muslims and Christians to use this period to address suffering caused by conflicts and violence in Kogi state and believe that their prayers will be answered and the state will witness change and be filled with Joy, harmony and development.
