Dr. Idris Omede, a Past President of Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) and former Commissioner of Health, Kogi State, has called on the Muslims to continue to demonstrate the fear of Allah in daily activities to ensure and build a better society.

In his May 2026 (1447A.H) Eid el Adha message, Dr. Omede noted the resilience and absorptive capacity of Nigerians, expressing hope that this will translate practically to family and economic gains and national peace in the not too distant future.

Dr Omede stated that “The sacrifice at Eid-El-Kabir is a clear demonstration of obedience of Prophet Ibrahim (SAW) and his son, Prophet Ismail (SAW) to the directive of our Creator, Allah. The lessons therein are multiple in our daily lives, in which if we apply to ourselves as decreed, our society will be better off for it.”

He urged the Muslim ummah to pray for the nation for greatness under a convivial environment, as the processes for another cycle of general election gathers momentum.

Dr. Omede, who was also a former President of Association of Professional Bodies of Nigeria (APBN), enjoined all to be peace loving, altruistic and intentionally patriotic for a better nation.
