Contoversial Senator representing Kogi West, Dino Melaye has concluded plans to launch a violent protest against President Muhammed Buhari in Abuja this week.
The protest is in continuation of Melaye’s subtle attacks on the president. A source within his camp confirmed that the violent protest will hold either on Monday or Tuesday, depending on “stakeholders input”.
The protest, according to our source, will be under the guise of agitating for presidential approval of the bill on upgrading Ahmadu Bello University (Agriculture) in Kabba to a full fledged University. He confided in this reporter that the real intent of the violent protest is to forment trouble and ignite crisis but the main motive is to attack the person of President Buhari.
To add little credence to the politically motivated violent protest, Melaye has reached out to many Professors and other academic from Kogi West to join the protest in Abuja.
We reliably gathered that some professors have declined participation based on genuine suspicion of foul game. One of the professors, names withheld, told this reporter that he felt the agitation should be logical, peaceful and all-inclusive.
“The University, when approved, will benefit everybody regardless of religious, political or ethnic difference, hence, I strongoy believe every stakeholder should be carried along in this agitation to avoid mistakes of the past.
“Governor Yahaya Bello should be involved in the parley with Presidency to ensure speedy approval for the upgrade of the University in Kabba. ‘Gra-gra’ approach will not yield positive result. Aside learning from the lessons of location of Federal University in Lokoja, where the role of a sitting governor came to the fore, our current Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello is known to be a very close ally of Mr. President. Dino should sacrifice the man-made disagreement between him and Governor Bello in the overall interest of Okun people. Why not use this people-oriented agitation to resolve the lingering issues between him the the governor?,” he said.
The professor alleged that when some of them raised the issue of carrying everyone along, Melaye told them he has a “different agenda”.
He confirmed that Melaye has reached out to many high profile professors from the land to give the violent protest some level of credibility.
