DG NASRDA Mourns Predecessor, Prof. Seidu Onailo

The Director General of National Space Research Development Agency (NASRDA), Dr Halilu Ahmad Shaba, has expressed sadness over the death of his predecessor in office, Prof Mohammed Seidu Onailo.

Prof Seidu Onailo Mohammed who passed away on Monday 8 August 2022 at the age of 62. 

Dr. Ahmad Shaba, in a statement he personally signed and made available to newsmen on Tuesday, said the agency mourn and celebrate late Prof Seidu’s extraordinary life.

He described Prof Seidu as a remarkable man who came as a meteor and left behind a trace of light that the whole darkness in the world cannot extinguish.

“It is with great sadness we at the National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA) learnt of the passing away of our former Director-General, Professor Seidu Mohammed

“On behalf of the management and staff of the agency, I send our deepest condolences to our late director-general’s family and the government and people of Kogi state at this difficult moment.

“Professor Saidu Mohammed. no doubt in his life time, stands as a testament to the potent power of hard work, patriotism and altruism; a proof that one man’s ideas that a country should come together to support space technology through its exploration can make a difference, first in one village, the nation and also across the African continent.

“His tireless efforts in this regard has earn him many accolades, prestigious awards, prizes and above all immortality and respect of millions of people who were inspired by his commitments to the success of our nation’s space technology attainments.

“He advanced this objectives through his service in the Nigerian government as he told the nation not to give up not to tire, to persist as the future is about space. His legacy will stand as an example to all of us at the agency to persist in our pursuit of progress for the nation through space research and development.

“His inspirational eloquence will always be remembered by us all because we are inspired by his story and proud that he was part of our successful foundation.

“Our thought and prayers will always be with the families. Adieu, Professor Saidu Onalo Mohammed,” the statement said.
