A socio-political group, Ebira to the World, has commended Senator Yakubu Oseni (APC|Kogi Central) for his bold and timely steps in drawing the attention of the Minister of Works, Babatunde Fashola, to the deplorable and unbearable state of Federal roads in Kogi.

The chairman of the group, Comrade James Mohammed, while reacting to the senator’s prompt decision and action to curtail the suffering of motorists plying these roads, noted that Senator Oseni is known for taking drastic actions on issues that affect the people of his constituency.

He added that “federal roads in Kogi Central should not lack constant government attention considering the fact that the area is a centre with tangential links with many states including FCT”.

James stressed that good and accessible roads will not only boost the economy of the area, it will as well enhance the security settings of the nation.

“One of the key qualities of good leadership is prompt awareness of people’s priorities and taking note of what affects the larger populace. Senator Oseni has once again exemplified this leadership trait by taking timely action in meeting with the Honourable Minister for Works, Babatunde Fashola to lodge complaints on the disheartening condition of our roads. This is very commendable,” James said.

It was earlier reported that Senator Yakubu Oseni and other senators from Kogi state met the Fashola to draw the minister’s attention to the deplorable nature of roads in Kogi state.

Senator Oseni on his part, laid complaints on Okene-Ajaokuta-Itobe road, Lokoja-Okene-Auchi road, Itakpe-Okene road, Obehira-Ageva-Magingo-Ibilo road, Okene-Esomi-Auchi road, Abuja-Lokoja-Okene-Auchi road among others.
