Kogi state chapter of Social Democratic Party (SDP) has called on Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo to ensure total inclusion in governance, where every voice is heard and every citizen has an equal opportunity to participate in the progress of their state.
In a statement issued on Thursday by the State Publicity Secretary, Isaiah Davies Ijele, the party said dividends of democracy should be enjoyed by all citizens, regardless of their background or affiliation.
He called on Governor Ododo to embrace true democratic principles.

“As we commemorate June 12 Democracy Day, the Social Democratic Party (SDP) reflects on the state of democracy in Nigeria, particularly in Kogi State. While we celebrate the ideals of democracy, we must honestly assess whether we are truly practicing it.
“In Kogi State, we observe a governance structure that, at times, appears selective and tribal, rather than inclusive. The dividends of democracy should be enjoyed by all citizens, regardless of their background or affiliation,” he said.
The party called on Nigerian government to ensure next elections truly reflect on the meaning of the Democracy Day celebrations and ensure the people’s vote decide who will govern them.
