Hon. Ahmed Mohammed of Ankpa I State Constituency and the Deputy majority leader of Kogi State House of Assembly, this morning, said his ascension into office to represent his people is an assignment from God, just as he vowed to continue to serve humanity selflessly throughout his tenure and lifetime.
Ahmed Ahmed in his Democracy Day message commended Kogites and Nigerians for their patience over the years, advising them not to lose hope as there were clear signs that the country is on the way to recovery. While describing change as a gradual process, said what Nigerians needed at present is to support the government in finding a lasting solution to the problems confronting the nation.
“Change does not come easily; change comes generally with pain and it is this pain that will turn out for good. There is no doubt that we are going through serious socioeconomic and political challenges and it is my fervent belief that after this period, Nigerians will experience good life, joy and happiness. I appeal to Nigerians to exercise patience with the present government, as the process of change is difficult and usually accompanied with huge pains,” he said.
He also appreciate the people of his constituency for their trust and co-operation, Said his election despite many challenges, was a clear indication that God was involved right from the beginning and as such he would continue to draw strength and inspiration from the Almighty, and will continue to give back to the people.
“I just want to thank everybody for believing in me.I believe so much that this is an assignment from God and that is why I am doing it with all my totality and give back to humanity. God has been too kind to me and for that reason, I have decided that I will serve the people selflessly to the will of God.
“My administration outlined six specific areas during our campaigns, and immediately I was sworn in to office we kick start our programs inline with our templates. We may not have met people’s expectation but we are making progress and we are determined to do more
“A Nigeria is possible. Where everyone will be inclined to do what is right. And life will become good again. Roads will be paved, railways and subways commissioned and running. And people’s lives are made easy,” he said.
