Senator representing Kogi Central at the national assembly, Nurudeen Abatemi-Usman, has expressed his profound gratitude to the people of his constituency for abandoning their earlier plans to protest against Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and heeding his call to support PDP with their votes in the Saturday’s governorship election.

In a statement signed by Mr Michael Jegede, his media assistant, Abatemi-Usman, assured the people that their votes would not amount to a waste.

He assured Anebiras that the new government of PDP would be made to affect their lives positively.

Congratulating Idris Wada, PDP’s candidate in the contest, he said efforts must be made by the governor-elect to justify the mandate given to him as he takes over in April next year.

“I really want to thank my people in Kogi Central for giving us listening ears  when we made efforts to persuade them to vote for our party, the PDP. I equally thank the people of Kogi State as a whole for voting for our candidate in the last Saturday’s governorship election. I want to assure them that we will make sure that the new government of PDP, under Idris Wada that will come into force in April 2012, meet up with the yearnings and aspirations of the people. I congratulate the PDP for the overwhelming victory,” he said.

He called on the people to join hands with the incoming PDP-led government for the total transformation of the state.
