Danko Forum Donates Science Lab Equipment to Bishop Delisle College in Lokoja

In its quest to enable indigent students have access to education and improve their skills in science subjects, a non governmental organisation, Danko Development Forum has donated science laboratory equipment worth thousands of naira to Bishop Delisle College, Lokoja.

The science equipment donation was necessitated by a need to create access to practical in science subjects which can change the lives of our indigents students in Lokoja and Kogi State in general.

Speaking at the donation and handover ceremony held at the college hall, Chairman of the Forum, Alhaji Bama Shehu, said the Forum’s decision to donate science equipment to secondary schools in the area was based on the potential impact of the project in ensuring that children from economically disadvantaged background were able to access quality science education  and have a conducive and inspiring environment for practical in science subjects.

“We believe that these factors will enable them to develop a healthy  environment, which will improve their knowledge, and understanding of the world and subsequently better position them for success in life,” Bama said.

He disclosed that in addition to donations of science equipment to Al-Ansar Secondary school, Institute of Arabic and Islamic studies Lokoja, the forum built and equipped science laboratory in Local Government Secondary School and renovated Unguwan Yashi health centre.

He commended members of the Lokoja Forum of Patriots who was represented to Alhaji Idris Baba’ango.

In his good will message, the Administrator of Lokoja Local Government Area, Hon Shiru Lawal, commended the forum stressing that he was inspired by the forum’s developmental projects in the area.

“I am a proud member of Danko Development forum even before I was appointed as the Administrator of Lokoja Local Government Council. I got all my inspiration from the Forum especially our policy on education,” he said.

Earlier in her welcome speech, principal of the college, Mrs Mary Bola Boro, thanked the forum the kind gesture.

“I want to first and foremost appreciate the Danko Development Forum for considering Bishop Delisle College, Lokoja as beneficiary of this kind gesture.

“Let me once again beckon on other education loving individuals, organizations and most especially old students of the college who were well to do, to come to the aid of the college in the areas of renovation of dilapidated structures which are now caricature of their original.

“The college community shall be grateful to receive other items such as computers, books etc from well meaning individuals and groups to enable us meet up with current education demands that will enrich the output of both the teachers students.

“On our part, we promise to put into use the items so donated to the benefit of the end users.”

The event was attended by Alhaji Sulaiman Baba, Alhaji Bala Haruna, Dr Aminu Isah, students of the college and a host of others.
