The Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) in Kogi State has vowed to take over the leadership of the state from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party.

State chairman of the CPC, Muhammed Mabo Kassim, stated this yesterday while speaking to Daily Trust on the preparations for the forthcoming governorship election in the state. He said the party will surprise the PDP during the election, stressing that CPC has put its house in order by resolving the intra-party dispute that engulfed the party.

“We have mend fences and those paid to create disunity among us have left for the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN). Now, the party is stronger and better without the spoilers,” he said.

He said their decampment  to the ACN will not in any way affect the party’s chances of winning the governorship election, saying that those that left have no electoral value.

He urged the state government to reconstitute the State Independent Electoral Commission (SIEC) to ensure that all parties in the state are well  represented.
