In view of the unfortunate global epidemic of COVID -19, sons and daughters of Yagbaland from all walks of life; the corporate sector, private businesses, academia, politics, public service, under the platform of Apapo Omo Yagba, have initiated plans to distribute essential commodities to the vulnerable in the entire Yagba federal constituency.
Group Co-ordinator, Prince Philip Orebiyi, yesterday in Egbe, Yagba West Local Council disclosed that the move, a bid to cushion the effects of the stay-at-home order occasioned by the dreadful coronavirus on vulnerable indigenes of the three local councils, Yagba West, Yagba East and Mopamuro, as target beneficiaries, has gulped N3.5m within 48 hours.
He listed the target beneficiaries to include widows, widowers and the aged from across 34 electoral wards in Yagba federal constituency who will be provided with commodities such as rice, semovita and sanitary pads, among others, beginning from Monday.
