COVID-19: Kogi Govt Didn’t Close Down West African Ceramic – MD

Baskar Rao, General Manager of West African Ceramic Limited (WACL) has denied reports suggesting that the company was shut down by the Squadron Team of the Kogi State government over the coronavirus outbreak.

In a statement issued on Friday, Basker clarified that there are two ceramic companies operating in Ajaokuta axis of Kogi state.

He stated that WACL is a Nigerian company and with no Chinese national in its workforce.

“Our company has been operating with full compliance to all the laid down cautious required before the Covid19 outbreak. Since the breakout of the the Covid 19, we have taken necessary precautionary measures to protect the management, staff and customers of the firm.

“Part of the measures we put in place is applying the ‘Stay at Home’ order for all junior staffers of the firm, ensuring personal hygiene of persons coming into the firm through the use of sanitizers, and using temperature checks for all visitors into the firm.

“Similarly, the WACL has freely given out hand sanitizers and face masks to residents within the firm’s community as part of our Corporate Social Responsibility.

“This clarification became necessary in view of the several concerns shown by persons and customers, and innocent customers who may be misled by the story,” the statement read.
