As the storm gathered for the October 19th elections, Hon Aliyu Ogido Haruna, the chairmanship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ajaokuta local government, reiterated his ability and confidence to defeat opposition not only in their respective wards but down to their individual polling units.

The APC Chairmanship candidate made this declaration in a Ward Rally hosted in Achagana on Wednesday.

Addressing the gathering of APC supporters, Ogido restated that his achievements are so glaring which has undoubtedly surpassed those candidates from rival political parties whom he labelled as “political parties having ugly records of underperformance”.

“The people of Ajaokuta LGA are set to vote not just based on promises but to appreciate the tangible impact of the ruling All Progressives Congress in every part of our community.

“Mark my words, candidates from the opposition will lose not just in their ward but at their polling units because they won’t prefer a labourer to a retired director,” he added.

The immediate past Ajaokuta Caretaker Chairman, Aliyu Ogido also took the opportunity to commend Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Usman Ododo for the recent approval of a minimum wage of 72,500 Naira, which he promised to build upon.

“If elected, I will ensure that the welfare of our local government staff is continually enhanced. This is a commitment I will deliver on, I won’t victimise or sack any staff in an unethical manner,” he pledged, receiving cheers from the gathered party faithful.
