Compromised Security: PDP Calls Out Ijumu LG Chairman

Our attention has been drawn to a purported rejoinder that emanated from the office of the Chairman of Ijumu Local Government, Alhaji Taofiq Isa.

The rejoinder, which was aimed at dusting off the muddy toga of the Yahaya Bello’s administration on the issue of insecurity, without doubt, was a failed attempt, which may force us to bring Bello’s administration out for a public bath.

Taofiq in his hurriedly assembled defence failed to address the core issues of security compromise, raised in the PDP’s press statement.

1) Alhaji Taofik did not deny the fact that, Governor Bello invited the Fulani to settle in Okun land. This much was reaffirmed by Sheik Gumi during his visit to Kogi last week.

2) Alhaji Taofik never denied that the Fulani that were brought to Okun land have left our farmers devastated, being terrorised out of their farmlands.

3) The ALGON Chairman did not refute the fact that, the Fulani, brought to Okun land by Governor Bello, have severally dehumanised our women and murdered many farmers in cold blood.

4) Alhaji Taofik did not deny the personal confession of Governor Bello that, the Fulani are part of his administration security architecture.

If these facts remained undeniable, how else could the administration have compromised our security more?

Today in Okun land, it is Fulanis that sells cash crops like cocoa, coffee, locust beans, cashew-nuts and even mangoes amongst others. Yet, this administration did not see it as mis-normal for immigrants that have barely spent four years on our soil, to now be the owner of the cash crops that are older than some of their grandfathers.

It is sad that all these security breaches did not matter to Taofik, who kept hammering on the number of security meeting he has called. Of what use are meeting that were design to deceive our people.

Alhaji Taofik claimed he spent four days in the bush. If we may ask, how many of these Invaders have you brought to book?

Even if you spend eternity in the bush, and there is no result, what is the gain?

The truth is that, when part of the problem is pretending to be the bearer of solution torch, we know, and we can never be deceived to be part of such pretentious jamborees.

Is it not an irony, that they knew where these bandits were, during election, they took voters cards to them, but whenever they strike, Bello and his boys will look the other way, only to come out and say they spent nine months in the bush.

While appreciating our Local Hunters and Vigilantes groups for their selfless service to our communities, Honourable Taofik must not seek to take credit for the exploit of a group inspired by our traditional fathers.

It is laughable to read Alhaji Taofik insinuation that insecurity was higher under PDP.

We will challenge him to publish two cases of abduction for ransom in Ijumu and even Okun land before the arrival of their incompetent administration.

We put it to Taofik and Governor Bello, that, their security consciousness is zero.

We have not ceased to wonder how a man who is supposed to be the Chief Security Officer of the state, left a person with the antecedents of Gumi to penetrate the forest of Okunland with heavily armed bodyguards, unmonitored.

We will continue to pray for God to keep our people from this creation of Governor Bello, Taofik and their evil party, APC.

Pastor Stanley Ajileye.
