The Senator representing Kogi West senatorial district in the Senate, Dino Melaye, has been honoured with the 7th Diamond Special Recognition Awards Worldwide (Germany Edition) 2017.

According to the event’s organisers – Bustline Media UK – Melaye was chosen for the prestigious award because of his “various shelter, education, charity & empowerment schemes in his community.”

Leadership reports that the recognition is coming on the heels of another one – ‘Face of Independence Heroes Awards’ given to Melaye on Monday, October 2, 2017 alongside other prominent Nigerians in commemoration of Nigeria’s 57th independence anniversary.

The organisers – Face of Independence Agency through its project director, Catherine Eriom – said the award was carefully given to the “people who have positively impacted the country” and have contributed to her development in one way or the other.

A statement signed by B.A. Gbadebo yesterday in Abuja on behalf of Melaye, noted that the federal lawmaker, who is the current Senator of the Year 2016, has since dedicated the chain of awards to his constituents and the Nigerian masses at large.

It will be recalled that Melaye was earlier honoured on Sunday, September 24 in absentia with the ‘Most Resourceful Lawmaker’ award by the Federation of Yoruba Students Union (FOYSU) of the Ahmadu Bello University/Federal College of Education Zaria chapter during the grand finale of the 2017 Oduduwa Day celebrations.

FOYSU had said that Melaye was selected for his “relentless efforts in championing the cause of good governance in the country; contributions to the education sector; and empowerment of Yoruba Students across the country.
