Speaker of the Commonwealth Youth Leadership Parliament (CYLP), Matthew Avaabe James has congratulated the Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly, Matthew Kolawole on his recent appointment as an executive committee member of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA), Africa region.
In a press statement signed its spokesperson, Wisdom Isaac Johnson, CYLP said Kolawole’s appointment is well deserved and offers another opportunity for him to display his leadership prowess in bringing about a sensitive intervention in the current socio-economic turbulence.
“We are most especially grateful to the Chairperson of the Executive Committee of the Association in person of Hon. Lindiwe Maseko, MP, Parliament of South Africa for the confidence reposed on this energetic leader to serve in this capacity.
“We will like to declare our willingness to work together with him for the progress of the Commonwealth, African region. This is due to our strong belief that this new CPA appointment from our region will definitely arm us with the necessary provisions needed to fulfill our promises to the youths of our nation and of other member nations of the Commonwealth,” he said.
